An American Pragmatist

George Herbert Mead (Feb. 27, 1863 to April 26, 1931) was an American philosopher and sociologist. He spent most of his career the University of Chicago, where he was one of several distinguished pragmatists. He is considered one the founding father of the field of social psychology.
